Let Everything That has Breath Praise the Lord

This week has been a little bit on the slower side compared to what we have been use to but it was good. It’s good to have a small break at our half way piont! We only have a month left which is crazy. I have enjoyed the life I have been able to live in Jefferys Bay this far and am so appreciative of the relationships that I have been able to form! Pretty sure I have made some friendships for life. It’s crazy when you are United in Christ how quickly relationships can be solidified. I am not looking forward to the day I have to wave goodbye to them. I will be soooo excited to see family after two whole months but… a sad farewell.

God has been so good in bringing me on this trip and I have once again seen his goodness recently. We always say that God is good and he has a plan for us and his plan is perfect but it’s not always easy to see the products of that right after we are disappointed or discouraged. On this trip, like I said last week we are no longer going to Swazi. Yes we were all disappointed but we found out this week that if we would have continued to Swazi we would have soon been sent home. A few days after we would have arrived then the country broke out in riots, is in civil unrest and under Marshall law. Crazy!!! God really does know best and he revealed that his plan always has a purpose. Most the times we don’t see why or even know why things happen until a ways down the road but we were blessed to see his plan unfold so soon after our plans were changed. We can now say that yes we missed out on seeing Swazi but God was not done with us in Africa. He still had work for us to do and I praise the Lord for that because o was not ready to go home. Haha. Sorry family.

Also on the ministry side of things… we got to meet our new ministry! We are going to be working with an organization called Timion for the remainder of the trip. They are a really cool ministry who helps kids and the families of kids with cerebral palsy. Which is kind of cool because I felt an extreme connection or calling to the kid with cerebral palsy at the event we helped out with. They also make wooden wheelchairs and equipment for these kids. This equipment is some of the coolest I have ever seen also. It’s cheaper to manufacture however they don’t sell them. They only give them to the kids who need them. They also do home visits and really try to reach the families how to equip their kids for the real world so they can have a normal life. Definitely has stole my heart. Because of COVID level increases though, we are not able to work with the kids.

Again we had some fun days in our work days! I have loved serving the JBay community but everyone needs rest. Our ministry leaders (Global) surprised us with a vacation getaway for Wednesday evening, Thursday and Thursday night. They got all of us hotel rooms on the beach of JBay for us to recharge and get some rest before we jump into our new ministry abs take on the next month. We spent it really getting the rest we needed, spending time with the Lord and walking on the beach! So much fun and I definitely feel so much more rested.

We also got the opportunity to celebrate the 4th of July here in South Africa. Our team all pitched in money and we got hot dogs, stuff for s’mores, potato salad and fruit. We had a feast, however, it was sooooo windy and so our party was taken inside. The funny thing to this story is we actually celebrated on the 3rd of July. We had a busy weekend and a safari ended up taking priority over the 4th. Haha. We love our country but how often do you get to say you saw Giraffes, zebras, warthogs, elephants, monkeys, and various deer in the wild? We thought about it and yup, we all agreed… not often. But ya… it was so amazing. It took God’s creation to a whole new level. The zoo is great but the wild is soo magnificent. God made each animal so perfect with markings that are unique and loved by him. It’s amazing that God made such a majestic animal like an elephant and thought that the world needed us too. Not only people but needed me. I play a role in his plan that no one else does. We all do and it is so beautiful. I was in awe that everything here praises the Lord. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” God is so amazing, far better than I could ever imagine.
