Jumping into the future!

We are here!!! We made it to South Africa! God has answered so many prayers in my life to get me here. He has showed up in areas I never even expected, providing more than I ever thought. I’ve learned and experienced so much about the Holy Spirit already and am looking forward to growing so much closer to the Lord.

Traveling was great and LONG. Over 2 days of traveling and I think I am done flying for a while. Lol. In our travels we went 8 hours into the future! Crazy. It’s so weird to call home and them to be on yesterday. Haha. It’s also crazy to think that while we have the sun they have the moon and when we have the moon they have the sun. We share the same sun and moon as our family back home. Gods creations are amazing!

Our host moms, Wendy and Anita  are amazing! They brought us in and made it feel like home right away, Showering us with love and sharing their stories. So far we have enjoyed our days with lessons in ground rules and mostly free days to get adjusted to our new home. There is a mall close by and since malls are a big part of South African culture, we too have adopted frequent visits. Even if we dont buy anything it’s a good time to get out and look around, possibly even talk to some of the locals. I got the chance to meet our neighbor for the month which I was able to talk to for a bit.

There is no WiFi in the host house and so we all get to disconnect for the summer. I am looking forward to the growth that will bring in many of us. Oh!!….. I also get to run!!! Praise Jesus they have a field I can run around that is the size of a track. I won’t go completely crazy ??

We have got the chance to experience a little culture as well also. Food. We cook for ourselves with the help of Wendy who teaches us traditional food recipes. So far we have had fitscook which has mince meat, veggies, chutney and whatever you want. Lol. You then put it in a fried bread pita….so delicious. Other than that there has been meals we have already had back at home, like pasta. Pasta is also very popular in South Africa because it is so cheap. We have also been introduced to some South Africaan words. Laca is nice, buy-a-donkey is thank you very much and molo is hello in Cosa. How you spell them? Not how I did?? might have to fact check me there.

The view… amazing! A little flatter than I was expecting but so pretty. We are close to super tubes which is one of the most well known beaches for surfing in the world! There are mountains in the distance and lots of windmills. I have seen a zebra from a distance and so many wild flowers are here. So many new colors and plants to awe at. Pictures can’t even do God’s artwork justice. There is so much more to experience and looking forward to all of it! Until next time…I’ll be eight hours into the future!
